EMSC Committee Meeting Information
The FEMA P-785 Shelter Field Guide was created with content contributions from Red Cross, San Francisco, New York and Missouri Health Departments. The Guide is intended to provide organizations without prior disaster experience with a basic overview of shelter operations that will help them to open and manage an emergency shelter. The Guide also contains information helpful to organizations that may wish to support the operation of a shelter, such as churches, service clubs, or businesses. The Guide refers to an organization acting in this capacity as a “supporting agency.”

Hands-Only Video Competition:
Entries must be emailed to EMS@FLHealth.gov by September 1, 2025, and should include a link to download the video, complete contact information for a representative of the agency, and signed photo release forms from all participants utilized in the making of the video. The winning video will be voted on by the Florida EMS Advisory Council. The winning entry will be announced at the Winter EMS Awards Ceremony and will be used to promote hands-only CPR throughout the state and nationally.
